Bethesda Kiwanis Foundation

Through our charitable arm, the Bethesda Kiwanis Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, we support more than a dozen children-serving organizations and activities in Montgomery County with grants totaling more than $50,000 per year.

Service Projects

Throughout the year, we participate in numerous hands-on projects that serve the needs of children in the Bethesda community.

Youth Programs

We sponsor Key Clubs at Walter Johnson High School, Walt Whitman High School and Montgomery Blair High School, and we provide scholarships based on an annual essay contest. We also sponsor the Walter Johnson Prom Breakfast.  In addition, we sponsor the Lazarus Leadership Fellows Program, a Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Educational Foundation program intended to cultivate student leaders. Fifteen students are selected each year to participate in leadership training in the community.  Finally, we contribute to numerous other youth service projects throughout the year, which may include: purchase of supplies necessary to serve meals at NIH's Children's Inn, purchase of holiday gifts for children in the Glenville Homework Club in Langley Park, purchase of school supplies and backpacks for disadvantaged children, sponsoring youth in walkathons and other fundraisers, sponsoring youth in Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) program, and sponsoring youth in the new Kiwanis Key Leader program.
