Speaker:

Our speaker was Denis Lipman, a.k.a., The Prodigal Tourist is author  of the book, "A Yank Back to England,"    Denis grew up in London and emigrated to America over 20 years ago and would travel back to his home from time to time to visit his parents.  His wife who he met in America  wanted to tour England so she went with him back home to begin a tradition of touring  villages and churches not on the usual tourist destinations. With his English accent and humorous stories of the tension, love and disagreements with  his parents he gave a charming talk. Many of the places they visited are within an hour or so drive from London and at some of them they were the only visitors.  He specifically  talked about the town of Sandwich which is an overlooked village with much history. A fascinating and entertaining talk.  He whetted  my desire to visit England some day. His website can give more information about the book and his experiences:.   http://www.ayankbacktoengland.com/prodigaltourist

Pat Norry won the 50/50.
