Weekly Newsletter of the Kiwanis Club of Bethesda, Maryland

Serving the Community Since 1945

Meeting Date: April 8, 2010

President Jeanne Smith opened the meeting.  Former President Bob Quinn led us in the Pledge and George Patterson led us with God Bless America although he mixed up the tune of my Country 'Tis of Thee with the words for God Bless America!  John Walker led us in prayer.  It was good to see everyone on another beautiful spring day.  Bob Gradle was welcomed back from Florida.  Former member Bob Quinn, President of Rebuilding Together (formerly known as Christmas in April) thanked the club for our donation and he told us about the home that will be rehabbed on April 24.  Montgomery County has the largest chapter in the country.  They rehab about 100 houses a year and the county contributes about $250,000 to help.  This is the 20th anniversary of Rebuilding Together and our Kiwanis Club has worked with them since the beginning.  Call Bob at 301-217-6450 or email: robert.quinn@nmfn.com if you would like to volunteer.
