President Jeanne Smith presided over the meeting with the Pledge, singing of God Bless America and Bill Hague gave the prayer.  We had 14 Kiwanians and guests for lunch in the small downstairs room at Tragara.

Announcements:

Pat Norry has been sick with pneumonia for three weeks but is much better now. Also Past Lt Governor ELana Gardener's father died recently - cards were passed around to sign at the meeting.  Ben Schlesinger also noted that Jim Lynch (honorary member) has been helping with our club’s website.  Ken King was inducted as our newest member by Bob Cressy. Ken is a past member of the North Bethesda Kiwanis Club which merged with the Gaithersburg Club. Ken is with United Bank and has been in Montgomery County since 1980. Welcome Ken.

Happy Dollars:

Gary Boswell HD for new member Ken King, and for deceased member Rocxey Kurle Hais (widow of deceased Sid Hais who is a big factor in our upcoming Miracle League).  Ben Schlesinger HD for Ken and for the new year. Ken King HD for the person who loaned him a quarter for the parking meter.  Pat Tiede HD for Ken and for the upcoming club events. Liz Quinn HD for Ken, also for this is the 20th year that Bill Hague has been pastor at Christ Church. Jim Leder  HD for the Steelers going to the Super Bowl.

A meeting of the Board of Directors followed the luncheon.
