Announcements:

The Kiwanis Foundation meeting date has been changed from January 19 to January 26.  Mark your calendars for Reading to Pre-Schoolers at Bethesda Ayrlawn's YMCA on Friday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m.  Pat Tiede will be calling for volunteers.  Jeanne Smith will attend the make-up session for Leadership Training at Leisure World on January 26.  An inter-club will be attending the Potomac's club meeting on Tuesday, January 27 to hear a speaker who served with John McCain at the Hanoi Hilton!  It is our club's goal to have an inter-club at each of the Division's clubs.  It is a great way to get to know members from other clubs and see what they are doing. Friday, February 27 will be the club's 64th Charter Night and it will be a lavish affair at Tragara Ristorante.  More details later.  Put that date on your calendar.  Scott Brewer has compiled a list of local merchants and each person attending today will call and invite them to attend our lunch meeting on January 22 which will feature guest speaker Dr. Jerry Morenoff, the current Chairman of the Bethesda- Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce who will speak to our group on the current business climate in the area.  Morenoff has a distinguished record of achievement as a corporate executive in the fields of computer and information science and environmental technology. Jerry is the former Managing Director of Imagination Stage. We hope to have prospective members from the Bethesda downtown community join us.

NO MORE PARKING WOES

Please note that if you are having trouble finding a parking place for our meetings, in addition to on-street parking and the garage across the street from the restaurant, there is a public parking garage on Del Ray, one block north of Tragara.  Going south on Old Georgetown Road,  turn LEFT onto Del Ray (one block before Cordell).  The garage is immediately on the left.  Parking will be at a premium next week as the Chamber of Commerce is also having their quarterly luncheon at the same time and place.  It really does help to get to the restaurant between 11:30-11:45 so you can socialize and all be present for our usual openings.  BRING QUARTERS!!!
