Kee-Notes
President Liz Quinn opened our meeting with the Pledge, and My Country 'Tis of Thee and member Bill Hague gave the prayer. Guests welcomed and introduced were Shirley Gradle, Bob Gradle's other half, Louise Richardson and Norma Tucker, friends of Pat Tiede.
Announcements:
Prior to our luncheon, several members of our club and guests attended the outstanding performance of Remembering Roberto Clemente (legendary Puerto Rican-born player for the Pittsburgh Pirates) at the Imagination Stage. At my table Pittsburg native Dr. Jim Leder was recalling his days at old Forbes Field where he worked selling souvenirs and snacks. One year on opening day, amid with snow showers, he was carrying ice cream for sale. That must have been a long cold day! Several members are participating in the Service Leadership Dinner tonight at Leisure World honoring our key clubs. Members were reminded to attend the Memorial Day Service at Woodmont Triangle on Monday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m.
Happy Dollars:
Bob Quinn HD for our golf tournament Friday, September 12 at Bretton Woods. It is important that all our members participate and get sponsors for the program book, greens and tees. And guests Louise Richardson and Norma Tucker gave HD for the fantastic play and work done by IS. Liz Quinn HD for George Spicer and IS.
Speaker:
Member George Spicer introduced Lisa Agogliati from Imagination Stage. Lisa is a dancer-choreographer with a degree in theater from American University. She told the story of a 12 year old deaf girl who came to her about 20 years ago wanting to sing and dance but who had been also told that there were no venues or groups that would accept her. Lisa said yes and Imagination State is the result. Fast forward 20 years and Lisa will be attending the wedding of this courageous young woman. Imagination Stage is the largest and most respected multi-disciplinary theatre arts organization for young people in the Washington, DC region. Their year-round professional shows for families and classes, performance opportunities, outreach programs and summer camps for ages 1-18 are informed by our their belief in making the arts inclusive and accessible to all children, regardless of their physical, cognitive or financial status. They have a wonderful facility with a 150 seat theatre and larger 400 seat theatre. Our club is proud to present a check for $4,500 to Imagination Stage which enables them to send children to camp.

Looking for Roberto Clemente
Jim Aylor won the 50/50.
