The facility was built with combination of county/state funds but its operating budget is raised privately. Strathmore’sStrathmore - At the Intersection of Art and Life beginnings go back to 1890’s with a house built by a family and was later renamed Strathmore Mansion where wedding receptions and afternoon teas are held.  One excellent aspect of the Music Center at Strathmore is the acoustics which rank the center in the top five in the country. Located off the beltway, parking is free with a ticket to a performance.  The parking garage is connected to the center with a covered walkway and plenty of assistance is available for people with disabilities.  For your pre-performance dining the Prelude Café is available. The Baltimore Symphony is in residence half the time. A unique aspect of the center is the role in arts education- where the Montgomery County Youth Orchestra is based, along with other groups.  Check it out on the web at www.strathmore.org

Scott Brewer won the 50/50.
