Kee-Notes
President Liz Quinn led us in the pledge and God Bless America and Bill Hague gave the prayer. Great to see Harry Lowe and Eleanor Stoler
Guests:
Jim Leder introduced Denise Gorham and Charles Hudson from Bcc, Inc. Over 5000 kids a year participate with this organization. Bethesda-Chevy Chase Baseball was founded in 1993 to provide all children aged 6-18 an opportunity to participate in an organized program that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship while developing baseball skills. Games are played at various locations throughout lower Montgomery County. Most games are on Sunday afternoons. They are interested in helping with the Miracle League Baseball field.
Announcements:
Bowling with Key Clubs will be at Bethesda Naval Hospital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 10. There will be a Miracle League Board Meeting at Gary Boswell's office, 51 Monroe Street, Suite 1900, Rockville, MD. Don't forget sign up for our club's 63rd Charter Night on Thursday, February 21 at Normandie Farms restaurant. $40 per person.
Happy Dollars:
Jim Aylor for our guests, also for the first donation of $250 to the Miracle League. Bob Quinn, HD for our speaker, James Flood. Pat Tiede, HD for Gary Boswell who volunteered to help out reconciling the lunch payments and attendance. Pat will be asking one of our members to help her out each luncheon. Jeanne Smith had a HD for our guest Denise Gorham. (Editors note: Happy Dollars are the way our members can give recognition to something happy in their life or for others who have gone above and beyond in achievement. The dollars collected go to the House Fund to help pay for guests' luncheons). And of course there is the 50/50 drawing each week. You buy one ticket for one dollar and the person who has the winning number gets half the proceeds. The more you play, the more you have a chance to win. The other half goes into the House Fund account.
Program:
Our speaker who has been with us before Dr. James Flood, a chiropractor. He spoke about success. First need to write down goals- put them in a journal and review them periodically. If goal is not written down it will tend to be lost or forgotten. Also think in terms of pictures -- picture your goal along with writing it down. The use of perception, will (focus) memory, intuition and reason will help to achieve the goals.
Jim Leder won the 50/50.
