Liz Quinn announced that staff writer, Bradford Pearson, had a front page article in the January 30 issue of the Gazette on our club's initiative to build the county's first handicap-accessible baseball field for the Miracle League. Great publicity and though there were some errors, a correction will be sent to the Gazette.

Ben Schlesinger HD great to be back, HD for Pat Tiede who is posting Kee-Notes to the Website and becoming a webmaster. Shira Oler for our speaker today. Liz Quinn glad to see Eleanor Stoler, another HD for Eleanor Stoler from Jeanne Smith and her guest Eldad Moraru. Eleanor Stoler gave a HD because she was glad to be back.
PROGRAM FOR THE DAY:
Shira Oler introduced our
speaker Julia Bail. She shared her story of her near death
experience. She had been feeling tired for several weeks and awoke one
morning with chest pain and told her husband to call 911. The
Bethesda-Chevy Chase rescue squad came and transported her to Suburban
and as she was being wheeled into the ER her heart stopped beating.
She flat lined. She does not remember the ER team doing CPR for
20 minutes. She does remember having a warm feeling, hearing or
realizing the voice of God and having a very secure and wonderful
experience. Hearing her husbands voice calling her to come back- she
was kind of upset because she felt so loved and warm and comforted
that she didn’t want to come back to this world. She did wake up in
ICU and had stents placed in her coronary arteries. She is grateful to
be alive today. She has some memory loss and has had to make multiple
she trips back to the ER because of chest pain. She is thankful
to the BCC rescue squad and Suburban Hospitals cardiac doctors. Her
message is that heart disease is the leading cause of death in both
women and men, that women have different symptoms of heart attacks
than men. She reminded everyone that February 1 is the day to
recognize Heart Disease and women should wear Red!! A very
inspirational talk
Jim Aylor won the 50/50.
