Colonel in the JAG Corp. of the United States Army Reserve.  A program you won't want to miss!

Kay Bowman has been with Montgomery County Public Libraries for over 20 years serving as branch manager at four different branches.  She is active with the Maryland Library Association and has held numerous leadership positions with that organization including President (2005-2006). Kay will speak on "What your Local Library Can do for You.”

Brian Germain, author of several books and an international speaker  and consciousness researcher specializing in fear management and personal transformation will be our speaker. He travels the world teaching about the consequences of emotion and the most powerful methods for converting it into wisdom and positive motivation.

Dave Feldman, CEO of Livability Project, best known for groundbreaking work with Bethesda Green.  Dave will talk to us about this community initiative of a living model to sustain the current and future development of Bethesda, by reducing its environmental footprint and promoting an environmental ethic.

Division 17 Fundraiser Menopause The Musical is a 90-minute production which includes 25 re-lyricized tunes from the 60's and 70's and culminates with a salute to women who are experiencing The Change.  Tickets are $48 per person includes two drinks. Bethesda YMCA's 9th Annual Family Fun Festival with Silent Auction.  From 12 Noon to 4:00 PM.  Goal is to raise funds for the Y's Building Bridges Campaign.  Help send children to camp. Blair and Whitman Key clubbers will participate. Our club will have a hot dog stand!

Roliette Gooding and Judy Macon from Suburban Hospital will speak about "Check It Out", a breast cancer awareness program for female high school students. Since 1993, Suburban Hospital has brought the "Check It Out" program to 11th and 12th grade girls in 21 Montgomery County public and private schools, educating more than 5,000 young women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Hear what these speakers have to say about the youth they are reaching and how the program is doing.

Meeting at Tragara - starts at 11:45 AM Eric Latham, a former key-club member, joined the Kiwanis Club of Manassas (VA) in April of this year. He is the executive director of Walk About America, an all-volunteer organization that walks for good causes. In 2005, Eric literally walked across America to raise money for cancer research. Since then he has written two books and continues to walk for good causes.  In fact, he hopes to organize a walk to benefit Kiwanis on April 10, 2010, which is Kiwanis One Day, Kiwanis International's chosen day of service for 2010.  His topic is "Take Steps with a Purpose: A Walk About America for Cancer Research."

Meeting at Tragara - starts at 11:45 AM Our own member Rev. William Hague, pastor of Christ Episcopal Church in Kensington will share his summer trip to Israel through slides and dialogue. You will hear how 36 parishioners discovered the difference between a pilgrimage and a trip/vacation when they went to the Holy Land - the land called holy by Jews, Christians and Muslims.  How this became a spiritual experience that gave us hope for peace.   You won't want to miss this one!

Club Meeting at Tragara - starts at 11:45 AM Pam Browning is the volunteer organizer of Save the Trail Coalition  (www.SavetheTrail.org), a coalition of fifteen community groups and 18,000 petition signers who are urging public officials not to build the Purple Line along the Capital Crescent Trail.  As currently planned, the Purple Line would bulldoze 3 miles of  the Capital Crescent Trail and 17 acres of forest surrounding the Trail.

Joint Meeting with Rotary  at Tragara - starts at 11:45 AM Our Annual Joint Meeting hosted by Kiwanis Club of Bethesda.  Speaker will be Veronique Marier, Manager of Renewable Energy & Conservation Programs and Mark Evans of WGES. Their topic will be clean energy electricity--what is it? how is it produced and supplied to consumers? and what is the outlook for the future.

Service Project Every Thanksgiving for the past 26 years, thousands of runners have gathered in Bethesda to run in the Turkey Chase in support of the YMCA's Youth and Family Services.  Volunteer to be a marshal and enjoy the festivities,
